Sucked up hours of my time-needed to do the most basic photo editing, just drawing lines on a map for submission to a zoning committee, ended up manually drawing them with colored pens. No confidence this is a worthwhile endeavor. So-crappy program where people "fixed" what wasn't broken, inability to process registration info, totally sucky customer service. Tried to call the number-first person who answered spoke so fast and with such an accent I have no idea what she said, then got sent to Hold Hell with the most obnoxious, poor quality noise (not really music) full of crackling and static, till I got fed up and hung up. No, I bought it at Home Depot, when I lost my old program when my old computer died. Went back to it when I had more time to see if there is actually a grown-up entry into photo editing, had to re-enter my serial number and it was rejected as bogus. No menu, just a lot of cartoony "Hey, kids, what do you want to play with today?" kind of crap. I installed Elements 2019 and got a goofy home page that looks like it is for a child. New buyers, or those with older versions, would greatly benefit. Unless you can't live without the new guided edits or the easy collage feature, users with more recent versions will miss little in skipping this update. Auto collages and slideshows will help busy working folks decide what to place on social media, while maintaining the ability to tweak at will.
While the 2019 version is a rather thin update regarding new features - the Organizer has no obvious new features at all - both existing and new users will find something that grabs them. Bottom LineĪdobe maintains an aggressive upgrade schedule for Photoshop Elements that succeeds in keeping the app fresh. Instead of opening in the Elements interface, the slideshow switches to the Organizer interface, where you can edit, swap out images, add captions and change the musical score from Adobe's built-in music samples. The Home Page also features several different automatically generated slideshows. The collage feature was quite easy to use in the previous version of Elements, but it has been even more streamlined in the 2019 edition, aided by a boost in automation. Text and border overlays add a sophisticated annotation to your images.
